Lead Systems Engineer

Indique Solutions, Inc. in Ashburn, VA is seeking experienced Lead Systems Engineers to oversee and lead the design, development and administration of Infrastructure for clients. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical knowledge of computer science and software engineering principles and concepts to perform the duties of the position.

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

1) Prepare and present briefings to senior leadership on status of systems and current advancements in technology and engineering capabilities.

2) Provide technical subject matter expertise and participate in efforts that include the planning, analysis, design, development, test and transition of systems, standards, compliance, and improvement support for systems being developed.

3) Provide recommendations regarding architectural compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, evolving software engineering concepts, standards, and customer/mission requirements, to include new functions and capabilities, as well as enhance the safety, stability, reliability, maintainability and compatibility with external systems.

4) Participate in system integration and transition to operations, and remote common back-up activities as they pertain to systems engineering and technical planning, development and deployment.

5)  Design, test, deploy, support and troubleshoot VMware in a large global environment.

6) Provide daily direct supervision to project development teams, supervising the work of at least three (3) other junior systems engineers/developers.

7) Develop automation-test triggers to exercise all layers of the product/APIs.

8)Ensure the quality and reliability of the software within total quality management limits.

9) Recommend improvements to test methodologies, test automation coding standards, and best practices through code review, and design quality test plans.

10) Recommend the redesign and configuration of existing systems to increase performance.

11) Respond to incidents and emergencies as they come up.

 

NOTE: This position supervises at least 3 other junior system engineers/developers, but does not involve any management decisions (i.e., it does not involve decisions related to hiring, termination, compensation or performance reviews).

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Applications, Electronic or Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or any related IT field of study, plus at least one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in any position(s) involving administration of Windows and VMWare infrastructure.

 

Qualified applicants must also have at least one (1) year of experience working with the following:

1. Comprehensive knowledge of Windows and VMware Administration.

2. Core Java Programming.

3. Automated Testing-Coded UI, Selenium, REST API, HP ALM.

4. Experience with databases and data-driven applications.

5. Experience with replication, backup, restore and disaster recovery.

6. Experience with architecting, test-automation, quality assurance, developing and extending large and complex systems.

•  Job Site: Ashburn, VA 20148.
•  No travel; no telecommuting. Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the U.S. which may require relocation at the end of each project.
